THE VIDEO THAT PROVES 9-11 WAS NOT A SURPRISE
You may have heard the strange story of how George Bush claimed to have seen the first plane hit the World Trade Tower on a television in Booker Elementary School before going into a classroom to hear some children read. This is a strange story because there was no video of the first impact until a day later, when a video shot by a documentary film crew that captured the first impact surfaced. Still stranger was Bush's reaction on being told of the second impact by Andy Card. There was none. Bush simply went on with the school visit and listened to children reading about a pet goat. For twenty minutes.

US may have let 9/11 attacks to happen: Ex-UK minister
A former minister in Prime Minister Tony Blair's government suggested in a newspaper piece on Saturday that the United States may have knowingly allowed the September 11, 2001, attacks to happen so it would have a pretext for wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Bush Administration's Top 40 Lies about War and Terrorism

This war on terrorism is bogus
We now know that a blueprint for the creation of a global Pax Americana was drawn up for Dick Cheney (now vice-president), Donald Rumsfeld (defence secretary), Paul Wolfowitz (Rumsfeld's deputy), Jeb Bush (George Bush's younger brother) and Lewis Libby (Cheney's chief of staff). The document, entitled Rebuilding America's Defences, was written in September 2000 by the neoconservative think tank, Project for the New American Century (PNAC).

September Surprise
Last May, President Bush made his now-famous -- and outrageously false -- statement to a Polish television station: "We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories.... But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them." In fact, of course, we hadn't found anything of the sort -- and pretty soon that'll be official. David Kay, the man in charge of the WMD search in Iraq, is expected to release a report this month on what the more than 1,200-member Iraq Survey Group has turned up. And the fact that the count still stands at zero won't stop Kay from trying to paint the search as a success.

US's 'private army' grows
In Colombia and around the world, civilians are doing work formerly done by the military.

The Assault on the USS Liberty Still Covered Up After 26 Years
Twenty-six years have passed since that clear day on June 8, 1967 when Israel attacked the USS Liberty with aircraft and torpedo boats, killing 34 young men and wounding 171. The attack in international waters followed over nine hours of close surveillance. Israeli pilots circled the ship at low level 13 times on eight different occasions before attacking. Radio operators in Spain, Lebanon, Germany and aboard the ship itself all heard the pilots reporting to their headquarters that this was an American ship. They attacked anyway. And when the ship failed to sink, the Israeli government concocted an elaborate story to cover the crime.

The absurd claim that PATRIOT increases your privacy

British Army Admits Brutalizing Iraqi Civilians
The British army has issued a public apology for brutally beating Iraqi civilians in the town of Majar al Kabir, 120 miles north of Basra. According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, on August 23 soldiers from the 22nd Special Air Service (SAS) clubbed and kicked 11 Iraqis they falsely believed to have been involved in the killing of six British military police officers in the town on June 25. The elite troops-which specialise in counterinsurgency operations and counterrevolutionary warfare-used stun grenades to swoop on three houses in the town, kicking in doors and lashing out with boots and rifle butts against the occupants. A woman was amongst those injured.
