Iraq Weapons Expert Predicted 'Death in Woods'
Iraq weapons expert David Kelly eerily predicted his death six months ago, telling a British diplomat that if Baghdad was attacked he would be found "dead in the woods," the inquiry into his death revealed on Thursday.
Dirty Secrets of the Pharma-Cartel: Part One
One soon discovers, in wandering through the labyrinth of corporate and political criminality, how encompassing and shocking the Globalist's dirty secrets and demented goals actually are.
When Cheney Spoke of Terrorism: Which Terrorists, Dick?
LaRouche, who is leading a drive to force Cheney's resignation, says "the entirety" of Cheney's power over U.S. policy-shaping "was gained solely through those of his presently undiscovered political benefactors who staged the terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001." Now, says LaRouche, "Cheney has promised an early terrorist attack on the U.S.A., comparable in political effect to that of Sept. 11, 2001. He does so at a time when his own failing political position requires some lucky such event to put him firmly back in the position he had prior to the recent developments in the Iraq war."
To the Victor Goes the Oil
Shell along with Chevron, BP and seven other oil giants, have won contracts to buy Iraq's new oil production of Basra Light crude. The contracts cover production from the Mina Al-Bakr port in southern Iraq from August to December of this year. Under the deal, Iraq will supply 645,000 barrels per day (bpd) for export, an increase on the 450,000 bpd produced in July but still just a third of pre-war levels. BP and Shell will each send one very large tanker every month to Iraq to pick up their two million barrels. Among the other companies that have signed deals to buy the oil are ConocoPhillips, Valero Energy and Marathon Oil, Total of France, Sinochem of China and a company from the Mitsubishi group, which is buying for Japanese refineries.
US warned a week ago about Baghdad UN bomb
US authorities in Iraq were warned last week that a large-scale terrorist attack on a 'soft' target in Baghdad was being planned. The warning emerged as rescue teams searched the wreckage of the bombed UN headquarters where at least 20 people, including the senior UN envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello, died in yesterday's suicide truck bombing.
Ashcroft Defends Secret Searches in Patriot Act
Attorney General John Ashcroft on Wednesday defended one of the most contentious police powers authorized by the USA Patriot Act -- secret government searches.
Target: 'Narco-Terror' Draft Bill Would Provide Broader Power; Ashcroft Defends Patriot Act
As Attorney General John Ashcroft barnstorms the country to bolster support for the controversial USA Patriot Act, a new bill is quietly circulating on Capitol Hill to give even greater powers to law enforcement — in the name of fighting drug trafficking.
The Drug War Helps Terrorists
Yet America’s “war on drugs” manages to escape the shame of one of its most horrific consequences: the destruction of thousands of lives in this and other countries. For the drug war has led to the enrichment and expansion of vicious terrorist groups around the world, even the one responsible for the horrible attacks of 9/11. Sadly, the government continues to ignore the warning signs and feeds the mouth that bites us all.
True Stories: Israel's Secret Weapon
The title of this admirably persistent report by the BBC's Correspondent team means that the answers to four questions it poses will not surprise, but the opening is stark enough to shock: "Which country in the Middle East has undeclared nuclear weapons?" it asks. "Which country . . . has undeclared biological and chemical capabilities . . . no outside inspections . . . jailed its nuclear whistleblower for 18 years?"
Death By Slow Burn - How America Nukes Its Own Troops What 'Support Our Troops' Really Means
Ironically, support for our troops will extend well beyond the war in Iraq. Americans will be supporting Gulf War II veterans for years as they slowly and painfully succumb to radiation poisoning. U.S and British troops deployed to the area are the walking dead. Humans and animals, friends and foes in the fallout zone are destined to a long downhill spiral of chronic illness and disability. Kidney dysfunction, lung damage, bloody stools, extreme fatigue, joint pain, unsteady gait, memory loss and rashes and, ultimately, cancer and premature death await those exposed to DU.
The White House distorts science for political ends
The Minority Staff Special Investigations Division of the House Committee on Government Reform prepared a report for Representative Henry Waxman, Democrat of California, entitled, "Politics and Science in the Bush Administration" (www.reform.house.gov/min). The report points out that the public depends "upon federal agencies to promote scientific research and to develop science-based policies that protect the nation's health and welfare. Historically, these agencies - such as the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Environmental Protection Agency - have had global reputations for scientific excellence." Even leading scientific journals are questioning the scientific integrity of these agencies. This year the editor of Science wrote that there is growing evidence that the Bush administration "invades areas once immune to this kind of manipulation." The report identifies more than 20 scientific issues that were manipulated by political or ideological agendas.
