Resurrection skeptic goes to baroque extremes Michael Persinger, a neuroscientist at Laurentian University in Sudbury, has just published an article in Skeptic magazine arguing in favour of a "natural" explanation for the Resurrection.

Rapture Index Inventor Tracks End of Time It's all there in the Rapture Index, Strandberg's on-line, end-of-time radar gun. The index is Strandberg's way of quantifying world events and biblical prophecy in order to measure how close -- or, how fast -- the end of time is approaching.

The Bush Crime Family: Three Generations of Treason There have been terrible crimes and criminals in United States history - but because the Bush family has passed their misdeeds down through generations, they are unequivocally the most corrupt. Rarely has there been a whole family of underhanded criminals where nefariousness was the rule rather than the exception. It’s not as if they have no code of conduct, the facts prove they lie, cheat and steal as their code of conduct

CNN says its silence on Iraq atrocities had nothing to do with maintaining access A top CNN executive kept quiet about some atrocities in Iraq not because the network wanted to protect access but because it worried about putting lives in danger, CNN said Monday.

Bush vetoes Syria war plan The White House has privately ruled out suggestions that the US should go to war against Syria following its military success in Iraq, and has blocked preliminary planning for such a campaign in the Pentagon, the Guardian learned yesterday. In the past few weeks, the US defence secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, ordered contingency plans for a war on Syria to be reviewed following the fall of Baghdad.

Is Syria next on the US hit-list? Isreal's Infrastructures Minister Joseph Paritzky has ordered an assessment of the condition of an old pipeline to the city of Haifa from Mosul in Iraq, the influential Israeli daily Ha'aretz has reported. The pipeline, which used to provide Haifa (now in Israel) with oil until 1948, passes through Syria. Syria might well be next on the US hit-list for a "regime change" - the purpose being to restart the defunct Mosul-Haifa pipeline and solve Israel's oil needs. The pipeline would save Israel millions of dollars it currently spends to buy oil from Russia. It will also help the US diversify its own supplies of oil. The pipeline was closed to Haifa after the formation of Israel, and was redirected to Syria.

Iran continues to raise secret deal claim An Iranian news agency close to top conservative military figures attributed the fall of Baghdad to a secret tripartite agreement between Saddam Hussain, Russia and the U.S. According to the Baztab agency, 13 days after the start of the war, Saddam and Russian intelligence allegedly pledged to hand over Baghdad with minimal resistance to allied forces provided they spared the lives of Saddam and a hundred of his close relatives.

Secret deals alleged between US, Iraqi generals The low level of resistance against the US-led invasion could be because Iraqi generals struck secret deals with Washington, Russia's Ambassador in Iraq, Vladimir TItirenko who returned home from the war-zone said today.

'British-made' missiles found in Baghdad US marines in Baghdad have found several air defence missiles with 2002 stamped on them - meaning they were possibly manufactured in Britain or France.
