Patriot Act II Will Turn America Into Nazi Police State The Bush administration has launched another assault on constitutionally-protected civil liberties with the Domestic Security Enhancement Act, or Patriot Act II. The first Patriot Act, passed less than two months after 9/11, undermined the basic freedoms of immigrants under the guise of fighting terrorism. The Patriot Act II would take it a step further, broadly expanding the power of law enforcement agencies and completely trampling everything the Bill of Rights, and America, stands for.

Republicans Want Patriot Act Made Permanent The move is likely to touch off strong objections from many Democrats and even some Republicans in Congress who believe that the Patriot Act, as the legislation that grew out of the attacks is known, has already given the government too much power to spy on Americans.
